Your First Visit

Checking In:

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes ahead of your appointment time to fill out necessary paperwork.

  • Please bring your insurance cards, your referral when needed, and your copay payment.
  • Bring list of medications
  • Bring list of allergies

Your eyes will be dilated and your visit will last approximately two hours.

  • Bring dark glasses.
  • Having a driver is strongly recommended.

 

Your Visit:

You will be taken into an exam room and worked up by one of our technicians. This will include a medical history, eye exam, eye pressure check, and dilation of your eyes. Dr. Gale and Dr. Williams will then examine you and at that time it will be determined whether further testing is needed.

This testing may include: 

  • Fluorescein Angiography Dye Testing - to detect leaking blood vessels.
  • Optical Coherence Tomography - to detect swelling.
  • Ultrasound - to rule out various retinal pathologies.
  • Labwork - to rule out various diseases.

Dr. Gale and Dr. Williams will then review all testing results with you and discuss treatment options. These include:

  • Medications - eye drops, oral medications, or injections.
  • Laser Surgery - if indicated
  • Surgery - if indicated
